Myself: Together Again - Vision For 2011

Project Creator and Cancer Survivor, Debbie Horwitz, and the Myself: Together Again team are excited about our new goals, partnerships, and upcoming speaking opportunities in 2011. M:TA has partnered with NATRELLE® products, produced by Allergan, the leader in implant manufacturing. Aligning ourselves with Allergan is a great opportunity for M:TA to expand its reach to more women around the world. With its own marketing division dedicated to patient advocacy, Allergan is equally dedicated to M:TA's mission of empowering and educating women about breast reconstruction surgery. Our primary goals in 2011 are to print a second M:TA booklet and produce an online video series that will illustrate the journeys of many different women. It is our hope that these tools can address a wide range of topics and serve as an updated, comprehensive visual guide to breast reconstruction.

After performing a nationwide search, M:TA has found the new woman who will be featured in our second booklet. Sherri’s story is unique in that she does not have cancer…yet. However, her maternal grandmother’s sister, her mother, and a couple of her aunts have all had breast cancer. With her strong genetic predisposition and after much deliberation and consultation with her doctors, Sherri opted for a double prophylactic mastectomy with NATRELLE® expanders and implants, in order to take control of her own destiny. Sherri has bravely agreed to have her journey documented through photos and video and share it with women all over the world through M:TA’s second booklet and through our website. As we strive to remain an accessible and educational resource for all who seek information about breast reconstruction, this M:TA booklet will present an updated vision of what tissue expander breast reconstruction looks like today, while bringing attention to prophylactic mastectomy through Sherri’s unique journey.

In continuing to address different topics and circumstances concerning breast reconstruction, M:TA will be producing an online video series featuring various ‘case studies.’ As our project and sponsorships have grown, M:TA has touched the lives of so many and has received so many inquiries that we are passionately determined to stay up-to-date with the latest products and new images of breast reconstruction. With this video series, many different stories of women undergoing breast reconstruction will be shared with our audience. We hope that all women can find knowledge, inspiration, and comfort from these stories as they or their loved ones may face similar journeys.

Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter as we will be providing exciting updates on our projects and events, while sharing educational and inspirational messages with our followers. As always, we thank you for your continued support, donations, and feedback!
